I’ve been in logistics for 9 years. For the last 2.5 years, I have had the opportunity to build, train, and lead a team from scratch to run Ford Motor Co. logistics. My team ended up with 10 from Bogota, CO, and four from Manila, Philippines.
My heart has never been more full than watching those young gals and guys become successful and confident in their careers. I aimed to learn Spanish and Tagalog, but I never did a great job. No task has ever been more rewarding in my 48 years! I would love to become more involved in growing and leading future young people, especially the girls!! They were usually the MVPs in every training class I gave. The future of automotive is in good hands when these young women become a part of something greater than themselves and greater than the typical opportunities available. I fought for them. I love them and always will!
