“I am a chemical engineer, with a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and I was the first woman to earn this title at the State University of Maringá (UEM). I worked for years in the chemical and oil industries, with a focus on biofuels, and today I am a professor at Insper, where I teach Technological and Environmental Chemistry and coordinate the lab in this field.
I am the founder of Mulheres Negras na Engenharia (Black Women in Engineering), the largest network in Brazil dedicated to empowering Black women engineers and students. At Insper, I am part of the leadership of the Gender Studies Center (NEG), where I coordinate initiatives focused on communication and network strengthening. I also host the videocast NEG Convida, which promotes dialogues on gender, science, and society.
I was a TEDx speaker with the talk “Inspiring Future Black Women Engineers,” and I have been working as a consultant and trainer in diversity, equity, and inclusion, connecting science, education, and social transformation.“
